Embedded Pole Operation Instruction

1. Main application: 


Embedded pole is closing and opening current in vacuum circuit breakers, vacuum load switch, vacuum contactors and other high-voltage switching devices, which matched to the switch has advantages of small size, light weight, long life, high reliability, easy maintenance, no pollution, safe using, etc. It is widely used in electrical, mechanical, chemical, metallurgy, mining, railway.



2.Normal using condition:


a) Ambient temperature: indoor not more than +40℃ ; not less than -25℃ . Outdoor not more than +40℃ ; not less than -40℃ .

b) Altitude: not more than 1000m.

c) Daily average humidity not more than 95%; monthly average humidity not more than 90%. Outdoors should be a corresponding anti condensation measures.

d) No fire, explosion, serious pollution, chemical corrosion and severe vibration.

e) Earthquake intensity does not exceed 8 degrees.

f) When used in capacitor bank, high voltage motors, electric arc furnace transformers and other capacitive or inductive load, use the appropriate over-voltage protection, which is recommended for inductive load priority RC protection.

g) The other requirements shall meet GB/T 11022-1999

Note: When the above conditions can not meet the normal requirements of consultation by the user and manufacturer.

 


3. Main technical characteristics:


Embedded pole main technical parameters, dimensions shall meet the provisions of former samples page.

4.Basic structure and operating principle:


Embedded pole uses epoxy resin of good insulation and mechanical properties to seal vacuum interrupter and the upper and lower outlet seat as a whole. The static conductive surface of vacuum interrupter was connected with upper outlet by screw fastening; the moving conductive surface should be connected with lower outlet by soft link or spring socket. Embedded pole is connected to the primary conductive part of switch through exposed upper and lower outlet, which finished the closing and opening function by contacting of insulation lever, moving conductive rod, and switch operating mechanism at the same time.


Embedded pole internal (i.e., vacuum interrupter) is high vacuum ( ≤ 1 × 10-4Pa). When the dynamic and static contact closing by the operating mechanism, the dynamic and static contact is closed, the power supply and the load is turned on, current flows through the load. 5. Acceptance inspection: 


After receiving, inspect the packaging is intact, check the embedded pole without damage, the other parts are no mechanical damage and deformation; and check the products and product certification, product nameplate is consistent.


Inspecting power frequency withstand voltage: embedded pole should be inspected power frequency withstand voltage test once before installing and using. Before testing clean the embedded pole surface with a dry cloth or a cloth moistened with alcohol. Test specification: under rated opening stroke, apply rated power frequency withstand voltage 70% on both ends to regulate for a minute, then rose to the rated power frequency withstand voltage in a minute and keep a minute. During applying voltage, indicating device has no change or tripping means qualified, allowing small glitches to cause slight swing meter pointer phenomenon.

6. Installation, adjustment considerations: 


Before installing, clean the embedded pole cover with a dry cloth or a cloth moistened with alcohol; meanwhile, clean the conductive surface of the pole. If the surface is oxidized due to long time storage, please wipe out the oxide layer to ensure good contacting with switch.


Install and adjust the embedded pole on the vacuum circuit breaker as per requirements, while relevant parameters should be met the technical condition.


During mounting and adjusting, it is forbidden to strike or beat the embedded pole cover with hard object in order not to leaked or mechanical damage.


While installing, screw inserted depth should be less than the depth of upper and lower outlet, insulating lever, and fastening radiator marked on the outline diagram.


Check the insulation rod is skewed before installation, if so, please correct it.


Taking into account the insulating rod structure and assembly with embedded pole, before installing, please do not disassembly the insulating rod to avoid damage; For the insulating lever matched by users, please strictly refer to requirement to avoid screw gum left on the conductive surface of embedded pole to influence the performance.


In order to prevent distortion of the bellows suffered damage and affect the life of embedded pole, insulated rod tightening torque should not exceed embedded pole technical conditions specified bellows anti-torque.


Please ensure the concentricity between the conductive and fixed rods when installing the embedded pole on the circuit breaker.


During installing, do not dismantle the embedded pole repeatedly to prevent the connection screw slider.


After installing, must use a dry cloth or cloth moistened with alcohol to wipe the shell embedded pole clean in order to avoid the assembly of the impact of dirt embedded pole outside insulation.

 


7. Use & maintenance: 


When operating, the the operating voltage and current of embedded pole does not exceed the rated.


During operating the embedded pole should be regularly check and maintain:

a) Check the power frequency insulation of embedded pole: adjust the embedded pole to the rated contact opening distance (opening state), apply rated short-time (1min) power frequency withstand voltage on the fracture of the upper and lower outlet (vacuum interrupter fracture), there should be continuous discharge inside, otherwise replace embedded pole.

b) Check the contact burning (by checking the switch over travel changes), if exceed specified allowable attrition thickness, indicating replace embedded pole.

c) Check the dirt on the embedded pole and clean it.


After replacing the embedded pole, please adjust its mechanical parameters.


If the embedded pole is not used for a long time, please inspect it regularly; if it is subjected to corrosion of water vapor and harmful gas, should be cleaned.

 


8. Enclosure, packaging, transportation, storage: 


Enclosure: One copy of installation & operation manual and one copy of qualified certification


Packaging & transport considerations:

a) When manufactured products, packaging standards should be met the requirement, and the marks "up", "no wet", "handle with care" on the package should be clearly and visible.

b) Packaged embedded pole can be transported by car, by train, or by air. While by car, it is allowed the turbulence degree equivalent to the car in three grade road at speed of 20kM/h level; loading and unloading process should be gently, not rollover collision.


Storage conditions: dry, ventilated, without adhering dirt and corrosive gases, temperature -30 ℃ to 40 ℃ indoor.


Storage period: 20 years (before the switch is not installed).
